Dreaming of Pinewoods

£8.00

AUTHOR: SANDRA DAVISON

Dreaming of Pinewoods transforms a Masters in Creative Writing poetry folio into a chapbook which blends photography, commissioned art work, poetry, prose and a suggested play list of music.  This blended approach offers the reader the opportunity to enter into and dwell within, a place of hope and regeneration – the pinewoods live in the National Trust for Scotland’s Mar Lodge Estate in Aberdeenshire.

Dreaming of Pinewoods offers an insight into being at ease in this beautiful part of Scotland, inviting you to dwell amongst the trees, dream of pinewoods, and consider the future of the world of Scots Pines, of wildlife both present and gone.  The commissioned art work, and the author’s own photographs are designed to both complement and extend the writing, and the suggested play list offers an optional layer to your experience.

This chapbook is part of our autumn 2024 series. Chapbooks were traditionally printed and sold between the 17th and 19th centuries and took the form of a small printed booklet, usually containing a selection of poetry or fiction. The aim was to make literature affordable and accessible. You can read more about them here. This series of feral chapbooks emerges from this older tradition, offering powerful words and untamed reflections on a range of themes.

This square chapbook is 52 pages, printed in the UK on 100% recycled paper using vegetable-based inks.

Please note: all new orders will be shipped in January 2025
