AUTHOR: MIRIAM MASON

Through an exploration of the colour blue and the characters of birds, Beyond the Blue journeys through the themes of emergence, hope and self-renewal.  Drawing inspiration from Welsh myth, this collection of poetry weaves together family, freedom and empowerment, and encourages the reader to face the many versions of self, whilst also embracing the unknown.

This chapbook is part of our 2025 series. Chapbooks were traditionally printed and sold between the 17th and 19th centuries and took the form of a small printed booklet, usually containing a selection of poetry or fiction. The aim was to make literature affordable and accessible. You can read more about them here. This chapbook emerges from the older tradition.

This A5 chapbook will be printed in the UK on 100% recycled paper using vegetable-based inks. Pre-order now at a reduced price (£8 rather than £10) for delivery in late March.

About the author

A nature-driven poet, Miriam Mason is drawn to her Celtic roots, to the sea, and to the sound and feel of colours, all of which are recurring elements in her work.  Her writing is shaped by music and rhythm, and the power of the unsaid.  Her poetry has been highly commended and longlisted in international poetry competitions, and several poems have been published in magazines and in the Welsh Poetry Competition Anthology 2017-21.
